A day has finally dawned on this earth when the world is free of all weapons of mass destruction and our hearts are free of violence.
This was the dream of a young boy of Indian origin who grew up in a small village in Tanganyika, then a British colony. Experiencing marginalisation and racial injustice, he was inspired by the Gujarati book Bharelo Agni by Ramanlal Vasantlal Desai.
At the age of 17, he made a decision that would guide his life — to translate the book into English and spread its central message:
“The only way to eliminate violence is to make the world free of all weapons of mass destruction and our hearts free of violence.”
Over the decades, he shared this dream with individuals across the world, one person at a time. After years of dedication, the translated work Smouldering Fire became available to a wider audience.

Today, the question remains: how can such a dream become reality in a world still marked by conflict?
The answer lies with each one of us. If we do nothing, the world will continue its descent. But if we choose to make this dream our own and share it with others, a ripple effect begins — one that can grow into a global movement.
A group of individuals across the world have come together as the Bharelo Agni Family, committed to sharing this message within their communities and beyond.
If this dream resonates with you, we invite you to join hands and become part of this journey.
It may not be realised in our lifetime, but we can live with the knowledge that we contributed to a movement for a more peaceful and humane world — one we owe to future generations.
